New Version, Crashes and SoundCloud

August 29, 2012 Announcement, Press 3 Comments

Hello there,

We just wanted to inform you about a few recent topics related to BandFriend.

Version 1.1

The newest version of BandFriend is now available on the App Store. It was released simultaneously in multiple English speaking countries around the globe. The version features SoundCloud integration to let other musicians listen to your public SoundCloud tracks. The second big change was renaming the app to BandFriend. Some of you might know it was called musicr before, but due to serveral issues with that name we settled with BandFriend – which we think is a cool name too.

Crashes

Unfortunately we introduced a minor crash in the most recent version. It is possible that the app crashes when you are tying to leave the SoundCloud account configuration screen, when you have not entered anything. We already determined the cause of this problem and will provide a fix in the next version.

SoundCloud

Now that we have finally added SoundCloud support to BandFriend, we would like to hear from you. Do you like it? Do you have problems with it? Let us know. We think adding SoundCloud to the app makes it a lot more useful for everyone. So go ahead and add your SoundCloud account and let others listen to your awesome audio tracks. We’ve already spotted a few early adopters! Don’t know what SoundCloud is? Check out the SoundCloud website and register for free.

As always, we are looking for more musicians to join BandFriend. You are making it an awesome community for musicians. Tell your friends!

Rock on,

Your BandFriend Team!

The app won’t allow me to configure my soundcloud profile. It states it can’t find my username. Any suggestions?

      Hi Johnny,

You need to enter the SoundCloud ID of your profile. If you log on to your SoundCloud account and look at the URL it should look something like this: http://soundcloud.com/this-is-my-soundcloud-id

So, all you would need to do is enter the ‘this-is-my-soundcloud-id’ part of the address. We already fixed this for you.

    Hi,

I had completed everything to our band account, but the tracks from Soundcloud don’t appear for me and other musicians to see. I had set up the tracks on Soundcloud as private (at first) and than to public.

    MIG OUT.
