Version 2.0 for iOS now available
We have finally made the next major version of BandFriend for all iOS supported devices available. It’s 2.0 for a reason. We totally revamped the status updates section, now titled Activity. You are now able to post text and photos ( yes, multiple at once ) or both. So go ahead and share anything music/musician related with BandFriend now! And, just like you are used to in other social networks, you are now able to like and comment on posts by other musicians. There is also a new notification feature that, if you are on the activity screen, shows you right away if there are any new likes/comments on any of your posts. You can very easily pick between different feeds of posts. The app currently ( hint: they may be more in the future ) offers the following feeds: ‘Near Me’, ‘My Network’ and ‘My Posts’.
Any photo that you upload via a post will now be displayed in the Profile section ( see bottom ‘Manage Potos’ ). There you can view and delete photos if you need to. Photos are strongly associated with the original post, so deleting a photo will delete the post.
When you post a photo, you can give the photo a title. Furthermore you can now tag your instruments in the photo. In fact, you can’t upload photos for one of your instruments anymore. Instead you just post a photo and tag your instrument in it. That simple.
2.0 is currently only available on iOS devices, we are planning to release the Android version 2.0 later this summer.
Last but not least, unfortunately we overlooked a small crash bug before releasing 2.0 ( it surely will be fixed in 2.0.1 soon ). It occurs when you previously had the app installed and upgrade to 2.0. In some cases the app will crash right away when opening it. However, you don’t have to wait for 2.0.1, a simple uninstall/removing of the app and re-install from the App Store will easily fix the problem. If that is not the case for you, please contact us!
That’s it for now. We hope you’ll enjoy the new version as much as we enjoyed making it!
You BandFriend Team!
